New onsite helipad opens at Southampton General

Leintwardine Youth Group

Lesley Bourgourd recently visited Craven Arms to meet Karen Foot from the Leintwardine Youth Group who had organised a sponsored walk which raised a magnificent £233. While Lesley was there the Air Ambulance landed in a nearby field after attending an incident nearby so they took the opportunity to grab a few photos with the crew and paramedics.

Bloxwich Bullets Under 11s

Bloxwich Bullets under 11s raised £800.00 in memory of Caine Small who was killed in 2006 in a motorcycle accident. Funds are being raised every year by organising friendly matches against Penyca FC from Wales. Bloxwich F.C community club have 8 teams ranging from under 7s to under 16s. The club was founded in 2005 by Derek Cox.

Night Of The Dog

For the last four years Richard McGowan and Charlie Humphries have organised their annual Night Of The Dog rock concert and donated to the CAAT - this year they raised £3,000.

Pink Haircut

A social evening was held at the Blue Bell Hotel Churchstoke to present money raised by sponsorship. George Pritchard dyed his hair bright pink and had a sponsored haircut to raise money for the County Air Ambulance Trust £753.50 was presented to Stephen Hunt on behalf of the Fund. Included in this was money donated to celebrate the wedding of the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge.

We are delighted to report that we have raised over £8,000. Thank you to everyone for their support especially Rory & Wendy Underwood (guests of honour), Simon William (singer), James Marsden from Impulse Decisions ltd, Peter Banner (auctioneer ), BNI Lotus Chapter and Uttoxeter Race course.

Weston Village Fete

Weston village fete took place on Sat 11 June. Jack Rhodes Jones (head barman at the Woolpack) raised over £1200 for the sponsored haircut ably assisted by Grant Thompson from the Eastgate Street Barber Shop. There was a darts match, fete, haircut and a football match on the Sunday. Thanks also to Sian Mellins the landlady of the Woolpack Inn. MORE PHOTOS

Our Events Manager Lesley Bougourd collected a cheque for £1,300 from The Spirit of Chapel Ash Bikers Club , they have raised the money by holding different events over the past year. The Monkey Island Summer fete, held at the Farmers Arms, Wellington Heath on Saturday 10th July, was a tremendous success. With glorious sunshine, fabulous setting, the community spirit set the afternoon off with a buzz in the air. Jason Dennis, Corporate Manager for the County Ambulance Trust cut the ribbon at 3pm.

This year £550 was raised for the County Air Ambulance Trust.

Karen Bannister presents a cheque to Amanda McWalter (from CAAT) for £800 raised by her tandem skydive which took place at the Cornish Paracute Club (www.cornishparachuteclub.co.uk) in Perranporth, Cornwall.

The children on the photo are her son Christian aged 6, Jamie Rock aged 5 and Sidney Whittinghton aged 6.

The 2010 RUNFORFUN in memory of Tom Knight took place on Sunday 4th July. Over 200 people took part and Tom's Mum, Lesley Bougourd said: 'I would like to say a huge thank you for everyone that took part in the event. It is always a great tribute to my Tom and the impact he made on the people that knew him and loved him. For that I am truly grateful.
'I would also like to thank my lovely friend's Amanda Mcwalter and Andrea Gibbons who work tirelessly for the County Air Ambulance all to of Tom's school mates came to do the walk along with lots of familiar faces who always support our fund raising.'

Representatives of the two air ambulance charities serving the West Midlands have marked almost twenty years of fund raising and life saving.
